Auburn running back Michael Dyer and defensive end Corey Lemonier have been named to the Southeastern Conference Coaches’ All-Freshman Team, the league office announced Thursday.
Dyer ranks ninth in the SEC in rushing, averaging 73.1 yards per game. He has totaled 950 yards on the ground with five touchdowns while averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Dyer broke Bo Jackson’s school freshman rushing record and has three 100-yard rushing games, including a season-best 180-yard effort against Ole Miss that was the third-best single-game rushing total by a freshman in Auburn history, and most ever by an Auburn freshman against an SEC team.
Lemonier played in all 13 games at defensive end, totaling 14 tackles (nine solo, five assists). He had four tackles for loss including two sacks, forced a fumble and recorded six quarterback hurries. He had a season-high three tackles against ULM Oct. 2, and recorded two tackles in three other contests.
Eleven of the 12 SEC schools were represented on the All-Freshman team.
