Terry Kirby to Head Coach Offense-Defense All-American Bowl Team West
The Offense-Defense All- American Bowl, showcasing the best high school football players in the nation, has announced today that Terry Kirby, ten-year NFL veteran running back for the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and the Oakland Raiders, will be the Head Coach for Team West in the classic game scheduled for January 4, 2008, in Miami, Florida.
"We really couldn't be happier that Terry accepted our invitation to be the Team West Head Coach," said Matt Whittier, Executive Director of the Offense-Defense All American Bowl. "His talent, ability, enthusiasm for high school football, and dedication to the children of our communities will bring a new high to our game."
Offense-Defense Sports has selected the very best high school senior football players to compete in this week-long event complete with a high school football combine, charity events, and great football, and will be shown live on Fox College Sports.
"The 2007 game was an outstanding success," said Rick Whittier, President of Offense-Defense Sports, "and we're sure that with the addition of Mr. Kirby to our coaching staff, 2008 will be even more spectacular."
Last year's inaugural event was a hard-hitting affair that saw Team East come away with a hard-fought 28-14 victory over the West squad. Current Florida Gator backup quarterback and star-in-the-making Cameron Newton walked away with MVP honors in the contest which featured a bevy of players who are currently making their mark in the NCAA Division-I ranks.
