Records: Miami 1-0, Florida 1-0
Line: Florida by 22 1/2
Quick slant: The Gators are more than three-touchdown favorites to break a six-game losing streak against the Hurricanes. UM hasn't lost to the Gators since 1985. ESPN's College GameDay is on site in Gainesville.
About Miami: Second-year coach Randy Shannon has promised a new attitude mixed with the old swagger of Hurricanes football. UM fans will see what redshirt freshman quarterback Robert Marve is made of as he makes his debut in The Swamp. Marve will have the help of backfield tandem Javarris James and Graig Cooper — who combined for 1,264 yards in 2007 — and an experienced offensive line.
About Florida: With WR Percy Harvin and LB Brandon Spikes back from injury, the Gators have their full arsenal. Scoring against the 'Canes shouldn't be a problem for Tim Tebow and an offense that averaged 42.5 points per game. UF's secondary is looking to build off the momentum from a four-interception performance against Hawaii.
What to watch
1. Expect UF's defensive front seven to blitz early and often to try to rattle Marve. Miami's size up front and potent running game could lessen Marve's burden.
2. It will be interesting to see how many plays Harvin logs on that injured right heel.
3. Holding the Gators to less than 30 points would be a huge boost for a UM defense looking for an identity.
Worth noting: Gators FS Major Wright and Miami WR Leonard Hankerson were teammates at St. Thomas Aquinas. ... Miami has won 24 of its last 39 games against ranked teams. ... Gators K Jonathan Phillips, a Wellington native, was accepted into Miami law school but chose to return to UF as a fifth-year senior.
